Rizatriptan, a selective 5-hydroxytryptamine-1B/1D receptor agonist and
used to relieve migraine headaches. Chemical designation is
N,N-dimethyl-5-(1H-1,2,4- triazol-1-ylmethyl)- 1H-indole-3-ethanamine. The
benzoate salt of rizatriptan is a white to off-white crystalline powder; soluble
in water; melting point 178 - 180 C; administered orally. |
